Sleeping Bag Ministry

sleeping bag ministry

Every Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the Sleeping Bag Ministry meets in the education building to assemble sleeping bags which are delivered to The Peace House in Minneapolis, a weekday gathering place for economically challenged and marginalized men and women in Minneapolis.

Founded in 1997, it is estimated the Ministry has provided Peace House with over 625 sleeping bags.

How you can help

  • Donate king or queen flat sheets and any sized blankets, quilts and comforters. They can be dropped off at the church office during business hours.
  • Donate size 10 crochet thread, needles and needle threaders.
  • Come volunteer on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the school. If you can tie a knot, you’re qualified.
  • Donate new underwear, socks (new or next to new), backpacks, and personal needs items. These items are delivered to Peace House along with the sleeping bags.
  • Pray for the ministry and those they serve.

The Sleeping Bag Ministry coordinates the Christmas Giving Tree Ministry each year. Thanks to the generosity of the parishioners and the Council of Catholic Women, gifts are distributed to the Cuyuna Range Elementary School, C-I High School and the Cuyuna Regional Care Center.
