How do I reach the parish offices for Our Lady of Fatima and Holy Family?

St. Joseph's parish office is the central hub for communication and coordination among all the parishes that belong to our cluster. It provides administrative and pastoral support to the parishioners and clergy of each parish, as well as facilitating collaboration and sharing of resources. The parish office is committed to serving the needs and interests of our cluster with professionalism and care. Reach the parish office at 218-546-6559.

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. After all, we are thrilled that you're joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you're wearing. In the summertime, it's not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their "Sunday best," and that's fine too! However, we do request that shorts be of a conservative length (no “short-shorts”) and that in general, clothing be respectable and modest.

How do I get to one of our churches?

St. Joseph's is located at 617 Poplar Street in Crosby, MN. Here is a map.

Our Lady of Fatima is located at 27332 Central Street in Garrison, MN. Here is a map.

Holy Family is located at 1182 County Highway 8 in Hillman MN. Here is a map.

Where should I park?

Our churches have limited parking, so it is good to come early to secure your parking spot.

St. Joseph's. In addition to street parking, there is a parking lot east of the St. Joseph's Center. There is also parking available on non-school days in the high school's parking lot. There are several handicapped parking spots on Poplar Street in front of the church.

Our Lady of Fatima. Parking is available in front and back of the church. Handicapped parking is available on the west side of the church.

Where do my children go?

Kids of all ages are welcome at Mass. Our Religious Education is on Wednesday nights, please call the office to enroll your children and learn more.

I’m not Catholic, how do I know when to sit, stand and kneel?

There’s no need to be self-conscious about the postures and responses used during worship. Most visitors just follow the lead of our parishioners. The order of Mass is found in the hymnal at Our Lady of Fatima and Holy Family, or in the Word and Eucharist book at St. Joseph's. This will provide help with navigating the responses and the order of worship. If you have trouble finding it ask an usher or a parishioner for some help.

I’m not Catholic, is it okay for me to participate in communion?

Communion, or The Eucharist, is the most intimate expression of our faith. Catholics believe that the host is literally the body of Christ, transformed from bread by the priest presiding over the service. Most evangelicals think of Communion as symbolic, so it makes sense that they are not as strict about having the right relationship with it as Catholics and Orthodox Christians who believe it is a sacrament and the true presence of Christ. So, if you are not Catholic, we ask that you not receive communion. However, those not receiving the Body of Christ and Precious blood are invited to come forward with their hands crossed over their chests for a special blessing.

Am I expected to put money into the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money into the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider our parish your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving to our parish on a weekly basis.
