Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Information
for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
What is it?
It is a Montessori-based religious formation program for children, beginning at the age of three. It seeks to create and facilitate a sacred, “hands-on” space for children called an atrium, in which the children and their catechists can hear, ponder, and celebrate the most essential mysteries of the Catholic faith as revealed in the Scriptures, and the Liturgy.
Who can be in this program?
There are 3 levels of training which each require 90 hours of instruction. We have catechists trained for level 1 who can teach 3–6-year-olds beginning this fall. We plan on a few continuing to be trained to be able to offer classes for the second level possibly next year which would be for 7–9-year-olds
Will this be offered on Wednesday nights?
No. We will be offering 3 sections. Two will be on Tuesdays and one on Saturday morning. They will be meeting almost weekly for an hour.
Cost?
$50/student for the year. The fee will help to attain supplies that are needed for the next level and renew supplies.
